Middlebury, VT : Two seriously injured in Ind. 13 crash on Sunday, 9th September 2018

Two drivers were left with serious injuries Tuesday when their vehicles collided at 5:50 a.m. at Ind. 13 and the Indiana Toll Road overpass north of Middlebury.

According to Elkhart County police, a Honda Accord driven by Luis Garcia, 38, Goshen, was traveling north on Ind. 13 on the overpass when it suffered a mechanical failure and veered into the southbound lanes and collided with a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Victor Carmona, 32, Wheeling, Illinois.

Police said the cause of the mechanical failure could not be determined because of the extensive damage to Garcia’s vehicle.

Garcia was flown by medical helicopter to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of broken legs and ribs, according to the police report.
