A 24-year-old man is facing charges that he left the scene of a fiery accident involving a motorcyclist early Thursday morning, police said.

Tyrone Crawford was charged with aggravated vehicular assault and operating a vehicle under the influence after his Ford Explorer collided with a motorcycle that burst into flames at 3:45 a.m. on East 120th Street and Miles Road, Cleveland police said.

Crawford was driving on Miles Road when he turned into the path of Curtis Houston III, who was riding his Harley-Davidson, police said. Houston, 22, braked hard and slid into the SUV, according to police.

Houston was taken to MetroHealth, where he remained Friday evening.

Authorities said Crawford fled the scene but was later arrested. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and had a suspended license, police said.
