A 16-year-old girl is dead after a sledding accident in Niagara County on Saturday.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office received a call around 10:15 a.m. for the report of a sledding accident at Clyde L. Burmaster Park in the Town of Lewiston.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 16-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy injured.
Deputies say the two were sledding down a hill on a tube when they struck a tree at the bottom of the hill.
The two were transported by ambulance to John R. Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo for treatment.
The 16-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital from her injuries. The 3-year-old was treated and released.
The incident remains under investigation.
