Texarkana,TX : Man dies after wreck in funeral procession on April, Monday 16th 2018

An 81-year-old Texarkana, Ark., man was killed Monday in a vehicle crash that occurred near the end of a funeral procession.

Royce Watson, 81, died from his injuries at a local hospital, said Officer Kristi Bennett, Texarkana, Ark., Police Department spokeswoman.

The accident happened about 11:20 a.m. near North Rondo and McClure roads, according to TAPD.

Watson was driving a Kia Sorento east on McClure Road near the end of the procession when he allegedly collided with a utility truck traveling southbound at North Rondo Road.

Watson's wife, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to a local hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Bennett said. The crash remains under investigation.
