Five people were killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash north of Salem.
The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. on Oregon 99E and Nevada Street Northeast in Marion County, police said.
Lt. Cari Boyd said a vehicle crossed a lane and hit another vehicle head-on. All five people in the second car died. Two people in the other vehicle were hospitalized.
No identities were released. Police are still notifying next of kin.
The last accident when five or more people were killed in a crash involving two cars was in 2012. That same year a bus crash was even deadlier.
