Lansing,MI: Minor injuries in school bus crash on September, Thursday 28th 2017

The driver of a passenger car was injured Monday after rear-ending a stopped Hudson Area Schools bus in Wheatland Township.

The Hillsdale Daily News reported the crash happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. on U.S. 127 near Church Road as the bus stopped to let a child off.

The car driver, a 23-year-old Hudson woman, and a 4-year-old passenger, both reported minor injuries. One child exiting the school bus, which had 13 students on board at the time of the crash, also suffered mild injuries.

Those injured were treated and released at the scene, according to a report released by the Jackson post of the Michigan State Police. The driver of the car was cited for failing to stop in an assured, clear distance. U.S. 127 partially was closed until 5:15 p.m. to allow removal of the damaged bus and vehicle.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office and the Addison Fire Department.
