Collier County, FL : One dead, one injured in Immokalee Road crash on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2014
One person died and another was seriously injured after a crash in Collier County Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on Immokalee Road and Tarpon Bay Boulevard in Naples at around 8:01 a.m.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Pontiac -- driven by 54-year-old Thomas Carter -- was traveling east on Immokalee Road approaching the intersection of Tarpon Bay Boulevard.
At the same time, a Chevy -- driven by 75-year-old Jon Gutermuth -- was traveling north on Tarpon Bay Boulevard also approaching the intersection. The Chevy proceeded through the intersection going north and drove into the Pontiac's path. That's when the Pontiac collided into the Chevy's left side.
Gutermuth was taken to NCH North Campus where he was pronounced dead. Carter was also taken the hospital for serious injuries.
