Anderson County, S.C : 17-year-old dies in single-car wreck near Blume and New Prospect Church Roads on Monday night, November 3, 2014

A teenager died after a single-car wreck Monday night, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore. The wreck happened at 9:46 p.m. near Blume and New Prospect Church Roads, said Shore. According to Shore, 17-year-old Veronica Hayes was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand-Am when she went off the left side of the road, over corrected, went of the right side of the road, struck and embankment and overturned. The coroner says that Hayes was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Hayes was a student at Westside High School. The Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
