Silverdale ,WA :34-year-old motorcyclist was killed trying to pass a turning car on Friday morning ,July 3rd 2015

Then around 4:45 a.m., a 34-year-old motorcyclist was killed trying to pass a turning car in Silverdale.

Troopers say the rider was following a Hyundai north on Central Valley Road NE when the Hyundai stopped to make a left turn onto NW Olivia Road. The rider then attempted to pass the Hyundai in the southbound lane but struck the left rear corner of the Hyundai.

The crash sent both vehicles into a ditch off the southbound lanes. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai wasn't hurt.

Troopers said the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet, but didn't have the strap fastened. There was no mention if that contributed to the man's death.
