Lubbock, TX : Woman in critical condition after truck-motorcycle crash in North Lubbock on Sunday night, January 29, 2017

A woman remains hospitalized days after a motorcycle crash in North Lubbock claimed the life of her fiancé on Sunday night.

Lubbock police say Angela Friar was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Michael Vaughn Williams when it collided with a truck at the intersection of North University Avenue and Clovis Highway.

Friar, along with Williams and two of the truck’s passengers, were taken to University Medical Center from the scene.

Hours later, Williams was pronounced dead and on Tuesday, UMC representatives said Friar remains in critical condition.

The truck’s passengers, 18-year-old Elias Mendez and 21-year-old George Solis, had minor to moderate injuries, officials said.

The driver of the truck, 20-year-old Joshua Paterson, was uninjured.

Officials said the incident occurred when Paterson reportedly failed to yield the right of way as the men both traveled on University Avenue.

Paterson reportedly turned left onto Clovis Highway from northbound lanes causing Williams to crash into the side of the vehicle as he traveled southward.

Officials have determined drugs and alcohol were not a contributing factor.

The case is an ongoing investigation.

Social media accounts shows Williams and Friar were engaged to be married.
