Flagstaff, AZ : Flagstaff man killed in car vs. pedestrian crash on Sunday, November 13th 2016

A vehicle struck and killed a Flagstaff man who was walking in the roadway near the intersection of Soliere Avenue and Fox Lair Drive Sunday morning.

Flagstaff Police Department has identified the victim as 47-year-old Aldrin Lomahaftewa.

According to the police, Lomahaftewa was walking in the roadway in the 3500 block of East Soliere Avenue after visiting his cousin in that area when a passenger vehicle collided with him at approximately 6:40 a.m. Sunday. The driver said she did not see Lomahaftewa, who was not in a crosswalk at the time, until it was too late.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

FPD officers closed the road for several hours while they investigated the deadly crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
