Johnstown, PA : Truck driver in Route 56 wreck remains in ICU on Monday, 26th March 2018
The California truck driver whose rig crashed on the Johnstown Expressway on Monday and plunged nearly 100 feet down an embankment remains in the intensive care unit at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, authorities said Tuesday.
The 58-year-old man, whose name is not being released, and his 54-year-old wife were injured when the tractor-trailer crashed into the guardrail in the eastbound lane and plunged down the hillside into the shallow water of Solomon Run in Stonycreek Township. The passenger was ejected.
“She has some rather serious back injuries,” township police Chief David Dunkleberger said on Tuesday.
“I did talk to her,” he said.
