French Camp, CA : Four people died after driver speeds away from police in central California on Sunday, Sep 20, 2015

Four people were killed after a driver fleeing a traffic stop in central California led police on a high-speed chase that ended in a rollover crash, authorities said.

The San Joaquin Sheriff's Department said deputy tried to pull over the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer who was suspected of drunken driving around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver sped away, leading police on a brief chase reaching speeds of 100 mph. It ended when the SUV rolled over multiple times about 50 miles south of Sacramento.

The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth passenger died at a nearby hospital.

The driver was identified as Steven Thomas MacFadden, 19, and one of the passengers as Alejandro Tomas Rodriguez, 20. The identifications of two female passengers were not made public pending notification of their families, the San Joaquin Sheriff's Department said.
