Cumberland,MD : Ridgeley man injured in Meyersdale truck crash on may, monday 8th 2017
A Ridgeley, West Virginia, man was injured Monday when his coal truck traveled out of control and overturned on U.S. Route 219 in Summit Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Paul J. Southillette, 42, suffered minor injuries in the 1:40 p.m. crash and was treated at Meyersdale Hospital.
Police said Southillette was operating a 2005 International Harvester truck loaded with coal when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a concrete bridge rail. The truck then traveled approximately 1,000 feet before traveling off the rail and overturning into the left lane and median of northbound U.S. 219.
Meyersdale EMS responded to the crash and PennDot personnel removed the coal from the roadway. South Side Towing also assisted at the scene.
Police cited the driver in the accident.
