A 19-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash on Saturday night in Macomb Township after the Ford Mustang he was driving rolled over into a ditch, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
The rollover happened as Garrett Dale Amey was driving near 22 Mile and Heydenreich around 10:30 p.m., according to a news release. When deputies arrived, they pulled Amey, the Mustang’s sole occupant, away from the scene “with the assistance of numerous citizen(s),” Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said in the release.
The 19-year-old was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
“It is unknown if drugs/alcohol were a factor in the crash and no further information is available,” Wickersham said.
