Toledo, OH : A North Toledo man was killed in a car crash on Thursday, 5th April 2018

A North Toledo man was killed in a car crash Thursday afternoon, when his vehicle struck a city dump truck.

Alfred and Phyllis Michalak were driving on West Central Avenue near Maplewood Avenue in North Toledo when their car was sideswiped by another car, forcing it across the center line of traffic where it struck a city dump truck. Mr. Michalak, 89. was pronounced dead at the scene, Toledo police said in a statement.

Medics rushed Mrs. Michalak, 88, to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center.

No one else was injured in the crash, and one occupant of the car that sideswiped the Michalaks’ vehicle was found and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
