Chicago, IL : 50-year-old woman dies after East Chicago crash on April, Monday 3rd 2017

A 50-year-old woman died early Monday after a crash in northwest Indiana.

The crash happened Sunday at East Chicago and Cline avenues in East Chicago, Indiana, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Darlene Thiel was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 12:28 a.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office. She lived in Portage, Indiana.

An autopsy Monday found she died of multiple blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle collision, and her death was ruled an accident.

East Chicago police did not immediately respond to requests for information about the crash.
