Salida, CO : A 28-year-old Nathrop man died as a result of a wreck on Wednesday, November, 1st 2017
Brandon Todd a 28-year-old Nathrop man died Wednesday as a result of a wreck when the 1999 Dodge Durango he was driving went off the road near mile post 227 in Wellsville and into the Arkansas River at 5:30 a.m.
Colorado State Patrol reported Todd was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 with Theresa Holquin, 31, of Howard as a passenger.
The Dodge traveled off the right side of the road and down a rock embankment, rolling one time and ejecting Todd prior to coming to rest in the river.
Todd was pronounced deceased on scene by the Fremont County Coroner after his body was recovered by emergency responders.
He was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
Holquin was transported to Heart of the Rockies Medical Center with minor injuries.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
Responders to the scene included Fremont County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Colorado Department of Transportation and Salida Fire Department.
