One person was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle wreck on Saturday afternoon in Upshur County.
Banks District, Adrian and Selbyville volunteer fire departments, along with Upshur County EMS and State Police, were dispatched to the scene on Alexander Road near the intersection with Natural Bridge Road in southern Upshur County about 12:30 p.m., according to David Taylor of Banks District VFD.
Upon arrival, emergency first responders discovered that a Nissan Altima had left the roadway after the driver apparently struck a tree head-on. The operator of the vehicle was initially examined at the scene prior to being transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Buckhannon detachment of the West Virginia State Police is conducting the crash investigation.
