Sarasota,FL: Venice driver injured in I-75 accident on November, Friday 3rd 2017
A driver suffered serious injuries in a three-car accident on Interstate 75 Friday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Janet Bell, 63, of Venice was airlifted and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
According to the report, the three vehicles were traveling south on I-75, near mile marker 181, about 8:25 p.m. Friday. Brent Saltzman, 23, of Tampa, driving a Toyota Corolla, stopped due to backed up traffic. Bell, driving a Toyota Venza, stopped behind Saltzman. Michael Henning, 27, of Port Charlotte, driving a GMC Sierra, apparently failed to stop and struck the rear of Bell’s car.
The collision spun Bell’s car onto the shoulder, where it overturned. Henning’s GMC then struck the side of Saltzman’s vehicle, coming to rest in the center and outside lanes of southbound I-75.
Neither Saltzman, Henning nor James Termini, 34, of Ohio, a passenger in Henning’s vehicle, suffered injuries in the accident.
Henning was charged with careless driving.
