CAMP CREEK, VA : First responders extricate woman from rollover wreck on Saturday, October 22, 2016
Camp Creek, West Virginia
Crews worked for about 45 minutes with the Jaws of Life to extricate a woman from a car following a single-vehicle rollover about a mile past the Camp Creek Exit on Interstate 77.
According to West Virginia State Police Cpl. B. J. Garretson the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. “I have not had a chance to talk to the driver, all I do know is that a witness told me that they were behind the vehicle, and it appeared the vehicle lost control,” Garretson said. “It ran off the road and hit a concrete barrier that was on the side of the road. That’s what caused the vehicle to flip over.”
The vehicle was a black 2006 Chevrolet Impala, Garretson said.
According to Garretson, the driver of the car was Wanda Cook, 75, of Ghent.
Princeton Rescue Squad, West Virginia State Police and Blue Stone Valley Vol. Fire Department responded to the incident.
