Ocala, FL : 61-year-old Marion County man killed in ATV crash in the Ocala National Forest Sunday evening, February 19, 2017

A 61-year-old Marion County man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident on Northeast 133rd Avenue Road in the Ocala National Forest Sunday evening.

John Charles McCormick, of 5754 NE 133rd Ave. Road, veered off that road north of County Road 314 and struck a tree, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

McCormick, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person on the four-wheeler.

FHP was continuing its investigation into the crash.
