Las Vegas, Nevada : Two people died after motorcycle crash in the west valley on Monday, Oct 12, 2015

Two people on a motorcycle are dead after a crash in the west valley, Metro Police said.

Officers were called to Oakey Boulevard near Duneville Street about 8:45 p.m., Lt. David Gordon said.

A motorcycle with two riders traveling west on Oakey struck a Mazda sedan as it entered the roadway, Gordon said.

Both people on the motorcycle died at the scene. The driver of the Mazda and a 4-year-old child were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Oakey is closed in both directions between Westwind Road and Red Rock Street during the investigation. Duneville is closed in both directions at the Oakey intersection.

The accident remains under investigation.
