South Lebanon Township, PA : Rescue workers surround a vehicle involved in a fatal crash on East Cumberland Street on Sunday evening September 14th 2014
At least one person died as the result of a two-vehicle accident in the 1900 block of East Cumberland Street in South Lebanon Township Sunday evening. A police report was not available Sunday evening.
Weavertown, Avon Citizens, Friendship, Hebron and Lebanon city fire crews along with First Aid and Safety Patrol and Life Lion helicopter were dispatched to the accident at 1904 E. Cumberland St. (Route 422), at 7:10 p.m. Sunday. According to dispatch reports, the accident involved a rollover, with one person entrapped.
At least three people were involved in the accident, according to dispatch reports, One person was flown by Life Lion to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Derry Township. A 7-year-old child also was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by ambulance and later transferred to Hershey Medical Center, according to on-scene dispatch reports.
The accident blocked traffic on Route 422. Fire police set up detours at 15th Avenue and near Prescott Road. A tractor-trailer struck a utility pole near King Street while trying to maneuver around the detours, according to dispatch reports.
An accident reconstruction officer was on the scene Sunday evening.
