Virginia Beach crash injured the driver

Police were called to the scene of a single-car crash Sunday night with life-threatening injuries.

Police tell NewsChannel 3 the southbound lanes were closed on General Booth Boulevard near Croatan Road. They were reopened shortly before 11 p.m.

Police say earlier in the evening, a driver left the roadway and hit a tree.
He was taken to a nearby hospital. There’s no word on his condition.
