Lakeland, FL : U-Haul truck crashes into apartment building in Lakeland on Saturday, February 28, 2015

Six families are out of a home after a Uhaul truck crashed into an apartment building in Lakeland.

It happened Saturday afternoon at 2050 Edgewood Drive.

Lakeland Fire says the driver lost control and veered into the building.

Fire crews say the impact and the location of where the truck hit put the rest of the building in jeopardy of further collapse.

The crash also cut off the power and water to the building.

Lakeland's Urban Search and Rescue team was on the scene to prevent any further collapse.

Six families have been displaced as the building is deemed uninhabitable for the time being.

Crews have removed the rental truck but are monitoring the situation.

There are no reports of any injuries.
