BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI : Bedford woman killed in Samaria Road crash on February, Wednesday 7th 2018

A Temperance woman was killed as a result of a head-on traffic crash about 5:40 a.m. today on Samaria Road near Jackman Road, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim was identified as Rosella D. Pettrey, 20, who was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus. She was pronounced dead at the scene according to reports.

The other driver, Matthew Arndt, 50, of Sylvania, Ohio, was transported by ambulance to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition late this morning.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Pettrey was driving westbound on Samaria when she lost control. At that time, Arndt was driving a 2011 Kia Soul eastbound and the two cars collided.

Bedford Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Sheriff Jerald Johnson of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Uniformed Division, along with Deputy Sheriff Jon Cregar of the Traffic Services Division. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-240-7756.
