HUDSON, NH : Merrimack man seriously injured in Hudson on Saturday, October, 14th 2017

A Merrimack man was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after the car he was driving struck a tree off Dracut Road on Saturday night.

Timothy McKinnon, 34, is listed in serious condition, according to a Hudson Police Department statement.

McKinnon was traveling north at around 7:35 p.m. when he drifted through the southbound lane and into the yard of 35 Dracut Road where he slammed into the tree, police said.

Due to McKinnon's injuries, Hudson Fire Department emergency medical technicians requested a Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team helicopter to transport him to the hospital. The helicopter landed in the parking lot of St. Kathryn's Church.

The car's airbag deployed, and it is unknown if McKinnon was wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation by the Hudson Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
