Parma, OH : Mother, child injured after car flips into Parma house on Sunday, April 3, 2016
A mother and her child were rushed to MetroHealth Sunday after the woman lost control of her car, drove through five yards and flipped into a house, fire officials said.
The crash happened a little after 1 p.m. on West 130th Street between Smith Road and Pleasant Valley Road.
The woman was driving south on West 130th Street and lost control of the car, Parma Fire Capt. Matt Garan said. The woman drove off the road and through the front yards of five homes, crashed through a wooden and fence and hit an embankment that launched her car airborne into the porch of the home, Garan said.
The woman and the child were trapped inside the car, Garan said. Firefighters pried them out and paramedics rushed them to MetroHealth.
The victims' conditions and ages were not immediately available.
Middleburg Heights police are investigating the crash. A voicemail left with Chief John Maddox was not immediately returned.
Parma firefighters and the department's Collapse and Rescue Team reinforced parts of the home due to significant damage structure, Garan said.
