A 27-year-old man was killed when his truck crashed into a tree near the Madison Avenue exit off Interstate 80 early Saturday morning. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has not identified the man, who was driving alone westbound on the freeway. The accident occured at 3:42 a.m. Saturday, said Todd Van Lindt, spokesman for the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle was engulfed in flames, Van Lindt said. Due to the significant damage caused by the fire, the make and model of the truck were not available. The cause of the crash is under investigation, Van Lindt said.
