Vermilion County, IL : 55-year-old Douglas William Boggess killed in motorcycle crash on US 150 in Vermilion County on Saturday, Aug 8, 2015

The Illinois State Police say a truck struck a motorcycle causing a fatal crash on Saturday, August 8 at around 8:01 PM.

According to the preliminary investigation, a black 2003 Chevrolet truck and orange KTM motorcycle were both heading westbound on US 150 near the fairgrounds entrance when the truck struck the rear end of the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:30 PM.

The Vermilion County Coroner has identified the driver of the motorcycle as 55-year-old Douglas William Boggess of Danville.

The driver of the truck has been identified as 24-year-old Cody L. Roberts of Homer. He has been issued 3 citations as a result of the crash.

This investigation is ongoing by the Illinois State Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office.
