WATERVILLE, VT : Man ran bicyclist off road before crashing truck on Thursday, July 27, 2017
Police have arrested a Vermont man who they say ran a bicyclist off the road before crashing his truck.
State police say the road rampage began around 6 p.m. July 27 when the 45-year-old Eden man struck a bicyclist on state Route 109 in Waterville and fled. Authorities say as they responded to the injured cyclist, the suspect crashed his truck nearby and left the vehicle.
Police worked to identify the driver and later took him into custody.
WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2vrh1eA ) the bicyclist has been treated for serious injuries that are not life-threatening.
The suspect has been charged with gross negligent operation with injury resulting, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless endangerment.
