Holdrege, NE : Two people injured in semitrailer truck, car collision in Holdrege intersection on Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Two people were injured when a semitrailer truck collided with a vehicle in Holdrege at 1 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a Phelps County Sheriff’s Office press release, the semi, driven by Steven Rice of Wilsonville, was headed east on U.S. Highway 6. When Rice turned left onto Highway 183, Leland Winz of Holdrege pulled his westbound vehicle forward into the intersection. The semi struck the front end of Winz’s vehicle.

Passengers in Winz’s vehicle, Jean and John Gustafson, had minor injuries and were transported to Phelps Memorial Health Center by the Holdrege Emergency Unit. Their conditions were not available.

There was moderate damage to the two vehicles.
