Lacey, WA : 1 dead, 3 injured in collision near Lacey on Friday night, December 5, 2014
A 73-year-old Lacey man died Friday night as the result of a collision on state Route 510, according to the Washington State Patrol. Three other people were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
The collision involved three vehicles and took place about 2 miles east of Lacey about 6:30 p.m. Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock identified the dead man as David C. Ritche.
The first car, driven by Ritche, crossed the center line and struck a pickup driven by a 41-year-old Kevin Benge of Olympia. The third car, driven by a 17-year-old Yelm girl, struck the truck. An 18-year-old Yelm woman, Tonya Lasher, was a passenger in the third car.
Ritche wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
Trooper Guy Gill said it’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. Ritche had some medical conditions that may have played a role in the collision, Gill said.
