Norfolk, VA : Man crashes into house during high-speed police chase on Berkley Avenue on Friday, 26th August, 2016
A man was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after leading police on a high-speed chase, crashing into several vehicles and a house, authorities said.
Police began following the man near Berkley Avenue and the Norfolk line about 4:30 p.m. after they saw him driving a vehicle they believed may have been stolen, according to a news release.
The man, whose identity has not been released, then began driving at a “high rate of speed,” crashing into multiple cars and a house on Berkley Avenue, until police stopped him, the release says.
He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and faces charges that include grand larceny, hit and run, and felony eluding and driving on a revoked license, police said.
No injuries to officers or civilians were reported.
