Huntersville, North Carolina
A middle school teacher in Huntersville is in a coma after a motorcycle crash.
According to a statement on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools website, Brendan George, a science teacher at Bradley Middle School, was involved in a crash while vacationing in Montana last weekend.
According to Brendan's GoFundMe page, he was "fulfilling a dream of his to take his motorcycle across country" when the accident happened.
We're told he suffered a traumatic brain injury and is in serious condition.
"We have a bit of good news to share about Brendan this evening. The doctors always tell us to be cautious and not to draw unwarranted conclusions, but today Brendan was able to open one eye a little for a short while. Occasionally, he responded to some requests to move. This is a first step on a very long journey… Please continue to pray and pray," Brendan's sister Maura recently posted on the GoFundMe page.
