Mancos, CO : Aztec woman injured in rollover crash west of Durango on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos Hill on Tuesday, 31st July 2018

A 33-year-old Aztec woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos Hill.

According to Colorado State Patrol Cpl. James Proctor, Misty Gordon was driving east toward Durango in a blue Jeep Wrangler when she lost control of the vehicle around 8:35 p.m. near mile marker 64, in La Plata County.

Mile marker 64 is just east of the Montezuma County line as the highway drops down Mancos Hill.

Gordon’s vehicle went off the road, then re-entered the road and rolled, coming to rest on the eastbound lane. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Proctor said.

A Flight for Life helicopter arrived on scene about 30 minutes after the crash and took Gordon to Mercy Regional Medical Center. Highway 160 was closed for about 1½ hours because of the crash, Proctor said.

A spokesman with Mercy said Tuesday that Gordon was not a listed patient at the hospital, and it was not immediately known where she was taken.

Gordon was wearing a seat belt, he said.

Proctor said authorities suspect alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, and it is likely Gordon will be cited with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving.

Proctor was unsure Tuesday afternoon whether Gordon had been ticketed.
