Hannibal, MO : Two children injured in St. Charles County crash on Sunday night, July 10, 2016
Two Hannibal youngsters were injured in a traffic accident Sunday night in St. Charles County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the crash happened at 8:13 p.m. July 10 on westbound I-70, east of Highway 370.
The collision happened when a 2004 Lincoln Navigator, driven by 25-year-old Oscar Ramirez-Rodriguez of Camdenton, traveled off the left side of the road where it struck the concrete median, coming to rest in the passing lane of the highway. The right rear portion of the Navigator was then struck by a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina operated by 28-year-old Rae A. McCane of Hannibal.
Two passengers in the Lumina – 6-year-old Imani L. Mumphrey and 8-year-old Janya A. Cushshon, both of Hannibal – were injured. Mumphrey's injuries were described as moderate while Cushshon's were minor. Both children were wearing safety devices at the time of the mishap.
The injured were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
