A motorist from Hoosick Falls is dead and six other people were sent to area hospitals after a three-car wreck Saturday morning on Route 7 near Baker Road in Pittstown that closed down the roadway for hours, according to State Police in Brunswick.
Police say the six people, all of whom suffered non-life-threatening injuries, were wearing seat belts, which saved them from more serious harm.
Police have not released few other details or the the name of the victim in the collision, which occurred at 11:45 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing and it's unclear if anyone will be cited or face more serious charges.
Route 7 remained closed down for about five hours as the State Police reconstructed the crash.
The State Police were assisted by the Pittstown and Brunswick fire departments as well as five ambulance companies and the state Department of Transportation.
