Tallahassee, FL : Grandmother, 3-year-old girl among dead in triple fatal Lake County wreck on Monday, 31st October 2016
Three people are dead, including a 3-year-old girl and her grandmother, after a crash in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The girl, Fallon Painter, and her grandmother were driving in a Infiniti SUV on High Crest Court about 3:30 p.m. As they approached Country Road 455, a Sanford man lost control of his Jaguar, veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into them, highway patrol Sgt. Kim Montes said.
The man, James Walker, 22, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The grandmother, 56-year-old Debra Irwin, was also killed immediately in the crash. Fallon was at first pronounced deceased at the crash scene then taken to two hospitals where medical crews tried to revive her.
She was pronounced deceased at 6:15 p.m. at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.Irwin was a teaching aide at Montverde Academy in the small south Lake County city of Montverde. She helped teach science, the school's website shows.
Fallon was a student at the school, officials posted to the school's Facebook page.
"Both Debbie and Fallon were deeply loved by the MVA family. Please keep the Irwin and Painter families in your thoughts and prayers," the post read.
The intersection where the crash happened is near State Road 19 just south of Howey-In-The-Hills.
