Marion, N.C : Two people injured after a Head-on collision near Harmony Grove Road on Friday evening, December 16, 2016

A head-on collision near Harmony Grove Road sent two people to the hospital Friday evening.

At approximately 3:41 on Friday evening, emergency units responded to a motor vehicle collision on N.C. 226 South towards Harmony Grove Road.

Nebo Fire Department, Dysartsville Fire Department, McDowell EMS, McDowell Rescue Squad and the N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the call.

According to Trooper D.R. Alexander of the N.C. Highway Patrol, a gray Saturn, driven by Clinton Paul Boylen, 42, of Nebo, was traveling southbound on N.C. 226 with the intent to turn onto Harmony Grove Road, where he collided with a silver Hyundai, driven by Elizabeth Alezxandra Radner, 37, of San Francisco, California.

“From what we can say right now, the Saturn failed to yield and struck the Hyundai head-on as it was coming in the opposite direction,” said Alexander.

Both Boylen and Radner were taken to Mission Hospital for their injuries. According to Alexander, there may be charges for Boylen for driving while license revoked and failure to yield, pending on meeting with the driver upon release from the hospital.
