Two people driving vehicles with Vermont license plates were killed in a fiery head-on collision on Route 25 early Friday morning, police said. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department in New York haven’t identified the single occupants of either vehicle due to ongoing attempts to positively identify the deceased and to contact next of kin. Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy wrote in a statement that a gray 2003 Dodge Intrepid and a red 1991 Chevy Camaro involved in the crash were “engulfed” in flames when emergency vehicles arrived.
