Buffalo, NY : Brocton bicyclist serious after collision with car on Tuesday, June 27, 2017

A 15-year-old bicyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday after he was struck by a motor vehicle on Route 20 in Pomfret between Brocton and Fredonia.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies, who responded to the accident at 1:24 p.m., reported that the 15-year-old boy from Brocton was traveling east on Route 20 when he entered the same lane of travel as motorist Nicholas D. Galardo, 27, of Fredonia, who was traveling west on Route 20. Galardo told deputies he was unable to avoid hitting the youth, who was flown to UPMC Hamot, a hospital in Erie, Pa., for treatment.

No charges were issued as a result of the accident.
