ROGERSVILLE, AL : Man was killed and a 21-year-old woman injured on Saturday, August 12, 2017

Authorities said a Tennessee man was killed and a 21-year-old woman injured when the truck they were in went off U.S. 72 near the Second Creek Bridge late Saturday.

Deputy Lauderdale County Coroner Mike Bishop said Jonathan Wade Gooch, 28, 55 Marks Branch Road, Leoma, Tennessee was killed in the crash.

The passenger in the 1977 GMC truck, a 21-year-old Leoma woman, was injured and flown from the scene to Huntsville Hospital.

Her condition was not known, but emergency personnel at the scene said she was alert and talking before she left in the air ambulance.

The wreck was reported at 10:34 p.m. Saturday night.
