Discovery Bay, Washington
A Sequim man was airlifted to a Seattle hospital after being injured in a traffic collision on Highway 101 near Discovery Bay Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol says 27-year-old Benjamin Macqueen was driving his 89 Honda Civic southbound on the highway when his vehicle crossed the centerline.
Authorities say Macqueen's car collided with a northbound 2015 Freightliner Tractor towing a Great Dane trailer driven by 58-year-old Kenneth Reynolds of Marysville.
The roadway was closed for an hour and partially blocked with alternating one-way traffic for 3-and-a-half hours.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Reports from troopers say Macqueen faces charges of Driving Under the Influence and 3rd Degree Driving While License Suspended.
