Woodinville ,WA : 38-year-old woman killed and another injured after Wrong way Crash along Highway 522 on Friday , January 16th 2015

The wrong-way driver was a 38-year-old woman from Kirkland, according to Dominic Ledesma of the Washington State Patrol.

Investigators don’t know why she was driving in the wrong lane and don’t believe she was impaired, Ledesma said.

Highway 522 has reopened and all lanes are clear, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

A woman is dead after a wrong-way crash near Woodinville Friday morning.

a vehicle heading east in the westbound lanes of Highway 522 struck another car head-on, said Trooper Dominic Ledesma.

The wrong-way driver died at the scene, Ledesma said. The other driver was hospitalized for what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol has not released the identity of the woman who died. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

All westbound lanes of Highway 522, just west of Interstate 405 were closed after the crash. They are expected to reopen just after 9 a.m.
