COLLETON COUNTY, SC : 2 injured in three-vehicle crash at Bells Crossroads on Saturday, 8th June 2024

Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to a three-vehicle collision that injured two people at the intersection of Bells Crossroads.

Crews say a pickup truck hauling a flatbed trailer with a passenger car pulled out in front of a northbound semi-truck. The semi-truck struck the trailer and flipped the towed vehicle on its side.

Authorities say the semi-truck jackknifed causing the trailer to strike the cab, resulting in the fuel tank being breached.

The accident blocked the intersection and the semi-truck spilled a large amount of diesel, engine oil and transmission fluid on the highway.
