Gladstone teen pleads guilty in accident that killed woman

A Gladstone teen has pleaded guilty for causing a vehicular accident that killed a 25-year-old womanLogan T. Pope, 18, pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree involuntary manslaughter in the death of Ashley R. Miller of Smithville. The accident occurred Oct. 15, 2012, when her car was struck by an oncoming vehicle that was passing another on Missouri 92, near Second Creek Road.Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said Pope had smoked synthetic marijuana before the wreck. Pope is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 21.
