Charleston, SC : Taylor Barry, 22, arrested after car crashed into a downtown home on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015

A car crashed into the house on 107 Coming Street just after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. Charleston Police Department says the driver of the car was 22-year-old Taylor Barry. Officers say she smelled strongly of alcohol, was swaying from side to side, and had difficulty recalling the events of the evening. They say Barry admitted to drinking alcohol and then driving her car. Barry had blood on her chin and was bruised on the left side of her face. She was arrested on a DUI charge.

The hole in the house is now covered with a tarp and the front sidewalk and street is covered with wood debris from the home. The piles also include red car scraps and a Nissan front grate.

Police say a College of Charleston light post was also damaged in the collision.
