Santa Ana, CA : 72-year-old man killed and wife injured as hit-and-run driver plows into Orange County bus stop on Tuesday, December 8, 2015

Santa Ana police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who plowed into a bus stop, killing a 72-year-old man and seriously injuring his wife.

City News Service says Dien Van Le and his wife were waiting for a bus shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday when a car veered across traffic lanes and onto the sidewalk, hit the bus stop and then drove into a parking lot at a senior center.

Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says the driver made a U-turn and stopped next to the victims before speeding away without calling for help.

Dien Van Le was killed. Police say his 68-year-old wife had numerous injuries but is expected to survive.

Authorities say the car was a Nissan SUV, probably black, and it may have front-end damage.
